Agree with what everyone says about HSBC, they want the best and easiest applicants, hence having the best rates ALLL the time.0

They don't have the best rates all the time, I chose barclays at the time as they had the best rates for me, not HSBC, but their rates are usually competitiveIAMIAM said:Agree with what everyone says about HSBC, they want the best and easiest applicants, hence having the best rates ALLL the time."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Ive banked with ( Midland Bank) now HSBC since 1981 when I was 16. I have impeccable credit, very high pension and very low outgoings.HSBC as a mortgage provider have never appealed to me. I just do not like their business model0

Other lenders don't have access to Asian savers money to fund the same level of mortgage lending.0 -
Hi - Original subject was the shoddy way in which HSBC deal with online applications. Thanks for all the useful advice about the money being non-refundable and should be using a broker. Anyway, I did it myself again - made complaint, followed up with telephone calls to them and money has been returned.
I must say I was surprised by the many self-serving statements by brokers and the way in whch some started to attack another person who posted. Shocking behaviour and not liley to encourage young people to use their services. Good luck to you all !!1
