School trip postponed but deposit not being refunded.

Hi all, sorry if this is in the wrong thread but didn’t know where to post it.
So my daughter was due to go on a trip of a lifetime (for her anyway) with her school this year. Due to Covid-19 the trip has been postponed to next year when she will no longer be at the school. The deposit paid on the trip was non-refundable but that was booked the beginning of this year before the pandemic was even a news story.
Is there anyway of getting deposit refunded as I am now contributing towards a trip that my daughter can’t attend and I know I’m not the only parent doing so.
Thanks

Have you actually requested a refund? If you paid the deposit to the school it may be the school won't have any funds to return deposits if they have not been able to get a refund themselves. If that is the case, the school would probably keep a list of people they owe money to and when a new uptake for the holiday begins, they should be able to refund those who are no longer eligible. I would check with the school to see if they have made any arrangements to do this.

I'm in the same boat and have no idea what to do!
Yes I requested a refund and was told to speak to someone else!
