Go for a simple global multi-asset fund like one of the Vanguard Lifestrategy range or the HSBC Global range if you want to dampen down the volatility associated with equities by adding some bonds / other asset types.
Alternatively go for a global 100% equities fund that a range of providers offer.
At the current time, and for the amount you are thinking about, using a Vanguard fund and the Vanguard platform will probably be cheapest.
