Calculating redundancy when Employer changed PAYE reference

Options
Hello,
I have a question that I cannot find answered on any site.

I am being made redundant and my employer has calculated my redundancy payment. This figure is different to the one I calculated.

He has my start date as 2006 while I have 2003 - I have kept all my P60s and Pay slips.

Here's where I get muddled. During the first 3 years my employer changed the business name and which of his companies paid my wage.
This means that the Employer's PAYE reference changed.

Does this mean I lose 3 years (3 weeks of redundancy) because he transferred me from one PAYE to another?

No they can't just change a business name to get out of contract entitlements. So you should be paid from 2003.
