I have Major Keyboard problems

Hi guys, hope you can help, I switched on my laptop Saturday morning and got a message saying shift key had been held down for too long and did I want to keep the filter key on, remove filter key or forgot the third option.

I am sure I clicked keep filter key on, but when I went to type my password in to the system, nothing came up. I rebooted the system thinking that would clear it, but again nothing comes up when I type my password to get into the system.

I have tried pressing the shift key down for 8 seconds to see if the message will come up again and I have clicked on the Fn button and held that down for 8 seconds, nothing seems to be working.

What can I do, as I can’t even get into my laptop to remove the filter key option.

Hi thanks I tried that, but cant get into safe mode as none of the keys are working, the mouse is working and the caps lock light comes on when clicked apart from that nothing.:mad:

So the keyboard isn't working even before Windows loads?

What Laptop have you got?

Hi its a Sony Vaio, Windows loads and mouse works,after tapping on all the F buttons, I finally got a screen which asked me if I wanted to go to Safe mode etc and if no buttons pressed will load windows this was with the count down , however I could not move to click load safemode as did not have key board function. I only got the screen once even though tried & tried but never got that screen again.
