Shielding RyanAir will not let me move flight to next year

Hi, I'm shielding until at least 31st July.  RyanAir will not let me move our 25/07/2020 flights and car hire to next July (2021). My accommodation in Greece has already canceled. We did not renew our Annual Holiday Insurance in May due to Covid Advice given then, (this was changed later but was to late to renew). Can anyone help, please. RyanAir will NOT.

Are the flights still scheduled to operate currently?
have Ryanair released the flights for July 2021 that you are wanting to change to?
when you log into your Ryanair booking does it not give you the option to make changes? - fees would be between £35 and £95 per one-way flight. Not sure about change fees for moving car hire but there should be some information on your booking.
You can pay to change your flights right up until the day of departure so you could hold off changing till then to see whether the flights get cancelled in the meantime.
when you say they will not let you change flights...did you mean would not change for free?

You should be able to change your flight with Ryanair on the 'my account' section.   You can change your flight up to a few hours before travel but you will have to pay for it unless the flight is cancelled and you are offered a free transfer.  Even then you will still have to pay any increase in fares.    Not great news but it is what it is.   

Oops previous has said pretty much same and I agree, I would hold on a bit to see what actually happens with the flights.

Ryanair isn't under any legal obligation to help you because you are unable to travel, for medical or any other reasons. They are currently offering flight changes to later in the year for free, however if this doesn't suit you then you will have to either pay a change fee or hope the flights are cancelled.

Yes, but I want to change this to July 2021. They only offer dates up to 27th September 2020. They can move my flight to next year. However, I am not allowed to change it to this date to next year. I am Shielding and have major respiratory problems. The last thing I need is to get on a plane even with a mask. I have not stayed indoors since 13th March to get Covid on a plane.

what route are you looking at? many flights have been released are available up until end October 2021...maybe it is a route they are stopping

From the airlines point of view, your health problems will not be taken into consideration.  This is where insurance may step in but as you say you didn't take it out then I think you don't really have anything to fall back on unless your flight on 25th July is cancelled, then you can request a refund.  You can, however, change your flights to whenever you want but you will have to pay whatever the charges are.  Not being unsympathetic just realistic.

You'll need to ask them for the reason it won't let you change the booking - however you need to understand that your health problems aren't Ryanair's concern; you will be treated the same as any other passenger.
