new laptop on windows 10S home

need a simple answer to my question as not very tech savvy.have always used norton security for years ,i like it but i dont seem to be able to get it to download on my new  laptop,windows security when i open it dosent have anywhere to click to do a manual scan ,when i google it it says a box will open for you to scan with windows defender ,well thats not happening .any easy fixes thanks

    Windows 10 S is like a cut down version of Windows 10, if it ain't on the Store it ain't gonna run.  Get out of it as per the above link, and unlock the full version of Windows 10, where you're free to sod it all up as much as you like. ;)

    I guess the simple answer is get your money back on norton because you don't need it with windows 10s

    Windows 10s will use Windows Defender by default and that is all you need. As mentioned above, you don't need and can't use Norton on Windows 10s.

    Personally I would make use of the option to upgrade to Windows 10 but still use Windows Defender. At that point you could then use Norton if you really insist.
