Payment in lieu of notice for job offer that was withdrawn

Hi all,
I have been claiming JSA since mid April and I was due to start a new job on September 01st but the offer has now been withdrawn. The company I was to work for have offered me a weeks pay in lieu of notice even though I never started work for them.
Will this affect my ongoing JSA claims as I suppose I am technically unemployed, if by accepting the payment in lieu of notice will that mean I was employed for a week ?
I don't want to accept the payment in lieu of notice if it is to jeopardise any future JSA payments which could potentially be greater than the lieu payment for the remainder of the time it is due.
Thanks

Would this count as a 'suspension' of JSA claim and then 1 week working then restart your JSA claim?
I would have thought that the week of salary would be higher than JSA plus it extends the period the JSA will run for by one week. Have you asked your job coach?0 -
I know under the old rules you were allowed to earn up to a certain amount (£20?) per week, after that, it would be taken off your benefit £ for £ - but I'm unsure if that's still the same currently (whether for the old JSA if still available or the new style one). I imagine it was designed to encourage people to take work where they could - few days/weeks here or there. Rather than turning down work just because it would affect the benefit. I believe universal credit operates in a similar way - with any earnings reducing your reward rather than ending your eligibility.
Call them and ask - at this point it is just a theoretical. Technically, you won't be working (16 hours per week or more, or otherwise) even if you are receiving money that is classed as earnings - so I can't see why it would end your claim. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride1 -
The earnings disregard is £5 (with a few specified exceptions for particular jobs).Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
