Care - Expedia UK VAT cut to 5% (not so much of a cut)

I had booked a hotel in the UK for a couple of days in Sept via Expedia cost was £198 including tax at 20% so £33........this had a calculation option so was looking today now the tax rate has been cut to cancel and rebook....when i have looked at the hotel again today, Expedia are showing the new tax rate of 5% so £8 but the cost of the hotel is still exactly the same as last week ...so all they have done in cut the tax and put the price of the hotel up to keep it at £198....so to me this is just Expedia pocketing the tax cut for themselves and not passing it on to the customer........i did contact Expedia but they just gave me some waffle and sad they did not control the tax rates or prices on the web site ! so i have cancelled the booking and booked directly with the hotel now at £176
