Help Please - getting to Guernsey by ferry/hotel recommendations?

Hope you can help me - this is my first post! I desperately need to get out to Guernsey to visit a few banks, need to go in the next two weeks, for only 2 or 3 days. Can anyone advise any good websites to check ferry prices, i guess it would be Poole-Guernsey, and any hotel recommendations - Trip Advisor is usually my bible but in this case their seems no clear winners! - has anyone stayed in the Rochelles Hotel?

Any advise appreciated.

I have got rellys in Guernsey and I think the accomodation is quite expensive (there are certainly no travel inns and the like). It can also be quite expensive to get there. The next time we go we are flying from Exeter (about 20 quid each way) but you can also fly from Southampton and Gatwick. Can't remember everyone who goes there, but doing my last lot of research I checked out the Aurigny (channel islands air) site, the rockhopper site (if you can get yourself to Jersey), FlyBE *they do quite a few to Guernsey including B'ham and Condor ferries. Flybe were quite cheap I thought.

The ferries were much pricier than the last time we went, and I have been on some rough rough crossings in my time (it can be 8 hours).

Both Jersey and Guernsey airports seems to suffer a bit from fog. I may have been unlucky but our flights have been disrupted twice (one to jersey where it diverted to Guernsey after 2 very scary attempts at landing).

After all that bad news, I would say that both Islands are lovely, as are the people - personally preferring Guernsey as that's where my rellys live - and less "cosmopolitan".
