TERMS AND CONDITIONS for “Win on Hometime with Bush & Richie and Gumtree” (“Play Your Cars Right!” or “the on-air Competition”). These specific terms should be read with our general competition terms at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html which also apply to this Competition. 

 

1. ENTRY ROUTES AND COSTS 

 

1.Entries are restricted to one entry per household

2.The only way to be in the random draw to be invited to play the on-air game is by pre-registration: 

 

a) Online at https://planetradio.co.uk/absolute-radio/competitions/   or “the online competition page” 

b) Online pre-registration is free of charge. 

 

3.Registering to play does not guarantee a prize nor that you will be play the on-air game 

 

2. COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN 

 

2.1 HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS (“the competition mechanic”) 

 

2.1.1 The Competition Mechanic will air during the Hometime Show (“the Show”) with Bush & Richie (“the presenters”) between 4pm and 7pm, Monday 20th July to Friday 24th July. 

 

1. Once online pre-registration for the competition has closed on Sunday 19th July at 23:59, a shortlist of participants will be selected at random and contacted using the contact details provided. 

1. Being contacted and/or shortlisted does not guarantee the participant will be invited to play the on-air game. 

1. If the shortlisted participant is invited to play the on-air game, they will be expected to follow the technical instructions given to them by the Absolute Radio production team in order to come on the radio, speak with the Absolute Radio presenters and take part in the on-air game.  

1. In the event that the shortlisted participant is unable to follow the technical instructions, the Absolute Radio production team reserve the right to invite a different shortlisted participant to play the on-air game. 

1. Any shortlisted participant who plays the on-air game is referred to as “the contestant”. 

1. The Absolute Radio production team will choose five cars listed on Gumtree Motors (referred to as “the list of cars”). 

1. To start the on-air game, the presenters will describe the details of a car, including its price, to establish a starting price from which the contestant will guess ‘higher or lower’ when they compare it to the next car described by the presenters. 

1. The presenters will choose a second car from the list of cars, describing details of the car but not the price. 

1. The presenters will ask the contestant if they think the price of the last car they described is ‘higher or lower’ in value than the previous car. 

1. If the contestant guesses ‘higher or lower’ correctly, they will win £250 and the game continues with new cars being introduced each time.  

1. If at any point, the contestant does not guess ‘higher or lower’ correctly, the game will end, and the contestant will be awarded the prize money they have accumulated up until that point. 

1. The last car to be described will always be the starting point from which the contestant will guess ‘higher or lower’ when compared to the next car the presenters will describe from the remaining list of cars. 

1. The on-air game will continue until the contestant has won £1,000 and/or the contestant has given an incorrect answer, whichever comes first. 

1. Absolute Radio reserve the right to select new contestants and play two or more rounds of the on-air game per day at any point during the competition period. 

 

 

2.2 HOW TO WIN 

 

1. The contestant will win £250 for each correct answer up to a maximum of £1,000. 

1. The contestant can only win the maximum daily cash prize of £1,000 if they guess ‘higher or lower’ correctly four consecutive times.  

1. If the contestant does not guess ‘higher or lower’ correctly four consecutive times, they will be awarded the prize money they accumulated in £250 increments. For example, if the contestant only guesses correctly twice consecutively, they will have won £500 in prize money. 

1. Any final decisions rest with the Absolute Radio production team. 

 

3.ENTRY PERIOD 

 

1. Pre-registration for the on-air competition is open between Wednesday 15th July at 00:01am and Sunday 19th July at 23:59pm. 

 

1. The on-air competition will take place every day from Monday 20 July 2020 until Friday 24 July 2020 during the Hometime Show with Bush & Richie, between the hours of 1600 (4pm) and 1900 (7pm). 

 

4.ENTRY RESTRICTIONS 

 

Entrant to the on-air and the online competition must fulfil all competition the specific terms and conditions mentioned below, in addition to Bauer Media’s Competition General Terms & Condition:

1. Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry.  

 

1. Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, including any Prize Provider, are not permitted to enter. 

 

1. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to repeat the competition mechanic or any stage of it in order to draw a winner that fulfils all of the eligibility criteria and is in compliance with these Terms. 

 

1. If anyone has won a competition on any Bauer Media brand to the value of £500 or more in the past 6 months, they or any person at the winning address will not be eligible to win the competition. Winning the on-air competition will trigger this condition for the online competition.

5.THE PRIZE 

 

1. Each daily contestant will compete to win up to £1,000 per day in 4 x £250 increments. 

1. All winners must fulfil all eligibility and entry terms and conditions. 

1. Prize money will be sent to each winner as a bank transfer or as a cheque. 

1. Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and no alternative will be offered. 

 

 

6. OTHER CONDITIONS  

 

6.1 DATA PROTECTION.  

Names, email addresses, and /or telephone numbers (which, for all SMS competitions, will be shared with our SMS provider,) will be collected and used to process entries. Winner’s details may be given to the prize provider to arrange delivery of the prize.  Your details may remain stored after the End Date but will not be used for marketing unless you have ticked an opt-in box on entry. If you have, your details will be used in accordance with the information given when you ticked the opt-in box and gave your consent. 6.2 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONSENTS.  

By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs video footage, and other information, which you’ve submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize (if you win!). We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had. 

 

6.3 MISCELLANEOUS.  

1. Entries that don’t comply with these terms won’t be accepted and you may be disqualified if we think you’ve breached them. 

1. Participants may only enter once 

1. If there is a dispute about the operation of the Competition or correctness of any answers given, our decision is final and no discussion will be entered into on this subject.  

1. The correct answers to questions must exactly match our answers to win. 

1. We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.  

1. You are responsible for all costs of entry.  

1. You may be disqualified if you are incomprehensible, inaudible or if you appear to be driving, intoxicated or likely to offend listeners. 

1. Whilst on-air, you must not make inappropriate or offensive statements. 

1. As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition / the Prize. 

1. We may cancel / amend / end / suspend the Competition if we need to do so due to circumstances outside our control.
