reclaiming flight costs

We were in spain when the lockdown started. Our return flights were cancelled and we had to pay for two return flights home. We approached our travel insurers who told us that the insurance did not cover pandemics? We then filled in a claim form for easyjet to recoup the cost of the flights but have heard nothing. Can anyone suggest a next step,
thank you.

If you booked directly with Easyjet, they should refund you the flights that were cancelled. But they are inundated with requests so will take time. If you feel they are ignoring you, you could try to reclaim from your bank if you paid by card but they will want to know what steps you have made to ask Easyjet for the refund. Did you try to contact Easyjet or your insurers when you were in Spain to ask what you should do or did you panic and go ahead and book your own flights? Any evidence you have to support your claim to bank would be helpful to your claim.0
