Egg card/Egg money cash back at Shell

Don't know if this is the best place to post this, (or if its already been posted for that matter) but, I've just seen on the Egg website that they are offering 2% instant cashback (so 2p in the £) on fuel purchases at Shell until 31/01/2008. If you have an egg money card thats 3% cashback! Sounds pretty good to me if you already have an egg card.

1. The Shell cash back offer is available on Shell fuel purchases made at participating Shell Service Stations in Great Britain from 19 November 2007 until 31 January 2008.

2. Unless otherwise stated, the instant cash back from participating Shell retailers will appear on your account as a credit to your Egg credit card at the same time as your transaction appears. The cash back will show as "INSTANT CASH BACK", which you can view in your online recent transactions and your statements. The Shell cash back offer is valid for Egg Card and Egg Money customers.

3. The Shell cash back offer applies to fuel purchases made at participating Shell Service Stations in Great Britain (for the purposes of this promotion Great Britain excludes Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man). Shell fuel purchases made via pay-at-pump and Shell fuel purchases made at Shell Service Stations which are operated by Sainsbury's are included in the cash back offer.

4. The cash back amounts you receive will be calculated on the total amount of the Shell fuel purchase. If a transaction is refunded for whatever reason, the value of the instant cash back will subsequently be deducted accordingly.

5. You will not earn instant cash back on Shell fuel purchases charged to your Account during the promotional period if: you are over your Credit Limit; or
if you are not up to date with your payments; or
either you or Egg has given notice to end your Credit Card Agreement; or
bankruptcy proceedings have been started against you or you have been declared bankrupt; or
your Egg credit card is lost, stolen or misused by someone without your permission.

6. Egg reserves the right to withdraw, amend and add to the cash back offer at any time without notice.

This really bugs me! Shell have really cut back on the number of outlets here, so how exactly do they repay brand loyalty?? It's also the same terms as their own brand c/card.

been keeping my eye on this and have been deliberately filling up with shell on my travels... some is appearing as cashback but not all purchases. It's a shame there is no guarantee that all shell garages are on the deal.
