Heating pipe leak??

Hi there

We're having a confusing problem with a possible leak and I wondered if anyone could shed any light.

We live in an old 2 up, 2 down, with a kitchen and bathroom at the back downstairs. In October, we noticed a damp patch low on the wall between the kitchen and bathroom. This spread over the next few weeks and on the bathroom side of the wall is now particularly obvious.

Our best guess is that this is a heating pipe leak - we had a damp proof course injected into that wall (and others) just 2 years ago, and the company that did the damp proofing have come back to double check and said it isn't rising damp. We switch our heating on and off in line with the clocks changing, and the damp patch appeared in late October. Crucially, it stopped spreading in about April and has since dried out.

However, the strange thing is that we have not experienced any drop in system pressure, meaning that plumbers I've consulted over the phone are convinced it can't be a leaking pipe.

Does anybody have any ideas?! We need to get it fixed but it's tricky to know where to start.

Thanks in advance :)

We had something similar - proved to be a cold water feed pipe laid into a slot in ceiling joists which had cracked.
