in Surveys
I had a damp proof course for rising damp when I purchased my house, I have subsequently had issues on the wall treated, I contacted the damp proofing company who advised that I would have to pay £90 To them for them to instruct an independent surveyor which I did, surveyor advised that he would speak to company to complete the damp proof course on the internal wall again but suggested having house repointed and use kingfisher proofing for exterior also, company have advised cost for this as £2832 ( pointing, scaffolding and kingfisher treatment), I also contacted another established contractor for a quote for same external work and this was £1800, I went back to original company to advise that I had another contractor For external work and they are refusing to do internal works only now agreeing to carry out test to find out what’s causing damp, they would do it only for free if I paid 2832, I have a 30 guarantee in place? , I thought the surveyor they instructed would have confirmed findings, I’m not sure what to do next, how do I contact an independent surveyor and where can I find one, I live in a small terraced house in South Wales

As in the consumer or DIY boards as this section is about participating in surveys to earn pennies, not the kind of survey you think it is.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1
