Paving over pavers

We have recently moved into a new build property and want to extend our patio area with sandstone pavers. The existing small piece of patio has been laid and set with concrete. My question is would I be able to paver over the existing pavers as long as they are all level etc as it’s a new build there isn’t any subsidence etc? Thanks for your advice in advance.

As long as it doesn’t breach your damp proof course I don’t see an issue, we did exactly that when we built our conservatory on half the very old patio, paved the rest directly on top of the old. Our builder who built the dwarf wall for the conservatory said the old patio was solid so it was fine, he built directly on top 5 years ago and nothing has moved, despite having to tie in to a much higher supporting wall he built where the patio stepped down to the garden.0

If you are able to lift the existing paving slabs then you can get good money for them selling on local Facebook groups etc. People are always after a few of them at a time for garden projects or allotments.0
