Postponed Event

My friends and I were due to attend a craft weekend in May but the organiser postponed the event rather than cancelled due to Co-Vid and travel restrictions this caused,  We requested our money back but as the event was postponed and not cancelled we were told this was not possible and it would be rescheduled.  We really would rather have a refund and not hang on indefinitely waiting for another date.  Is there a time scale postponements are required to stick to?

In short, no I don't think so!  although not sure what you booked exactly.    What kind of craft weekend was it, a small scale affair or massive one?   What did it include?    Were there any terms attached to your booking?   Obviously if it is a big event with t's and c's attached to booking you can check to see what they say about postponement.    If not, and you paid by  card you may be able to claim your money back on the basis of 'goods not received' but it might be regarded as acceptable to postpone in view of the circumstances?

the sign up conditions did include in the unlikely event it was cancelled we’d get a refund but it’s been postponed so they say that’s different. Think about 50 people but the teacher was coming from America so who knows when or if it will go ahead.  We paid by bank transfer which we’ll not do again.
it is unprecedented circumstances but that applies to us as well as the organiser and we could all do with the money going towards other things.  We were just hoping postponing had a time bar attached to it.
