Utilita Switch after cancelling
Options
On 18 June Utilita sales person called at my property and literally budged in without invitation to read my meter. I told him I wasn't interested in switching but he assured I could cancel within 14 days. Biggest mistake was signing the dotted line. On the 23rd of June, exactly 5 days later and well within the 14 days cancellation period, I rung them to cancel and I thought all was well. I also rung my supplier Scottish power to confirm I wasn't going anywhere. To my horror I received I text message on the 7th of July from Utilita welcoming me on board. I immediately rung them to say this was a mistake as I had cancelled. They confirmed to me that indeed my call on the 23rd of June had been logged and unfortunately no action was taken. I raised a complaint and demanded to be switched back to my previous supplier and they said they would. Today I have just received a letter from them telling me I am not going to be returned to my previous supplier as they have investigated how I joined and there was no mistake or errors found in switching me over. I am very angry and feel they are forcefully trying to switch me over. I am concerned that they will still turn up on the planned date to fit the smart meter. I have spoken to my supplier again and confirmed I wish to stay with them and they will start the process of getting back.
What can I do? I am concerned they will continue to ignore me and just carry on with the switch.
