Biomechanical and travel insurance July last year. Paid balance after checking terms and conditions with travel insurance policy. Spectrum are now say as I made final payment in June 2020,if I have to cancel this final payment won't be covered. Any help would be gracefully appreciated.

When are you due to travel, was this an annual policy? If so it will expire this month? If a single policy and you identified dates of travel, there should be cover. Are they suggesting you can't cancel because of COVID 19 as it is a known event, because if you booked your holiday last June it clearly didn't even exist then0

Hi it's a single trip policy for this trip. They are saying because I paid the balance this June I did so knowing of Covid19. Basically they are saying I should have cancelled and lost my deposit or because I paid, take my chance that I won't have to cancel because of Covid. Not at all impressed, not sure that's even legal, have spoken to them their defence is my policy doesn't say it covers pandemics, to which my counter argument is that it doesn't state it doesn't cover pandemics. Very worrying nonetheless.0

Did you seek their advice before paying the balance, as the basic rule everyone has followed is that you have to pay the balance to avoid losing the deposit if it was a package holiday? What had you booked, when were you due to travel and has the holiday been cancelled by the operator, if so they may be responsible to refund you0

Does your policy have a statement about avoiding illness? Are they using that as the arguement against covering the balance payment?0
