Hi im sure there are lots of people in the same boat as us, so to speak, Royal Caribbean are asking us to pay the full amount of our October cruise holiday soon, I'm against this as I think because they're are not based for tax purposes in America but in Liberia, America will not bail them out and they've already lost a fortune due to the pandemic they'll probably hit the wall, and a lot of people will lose their money, any thoughts of how we can recover our deposit? Thanks Ray

If you choose not to pay the rest of your balance then that'll probably be considered to be you cancelling, in which case you're unlikely to be able to recover your deposit, and may even be obliged to pay more, depending on their cancellation policy.

If you pay and they go under then you'd have protection under chargeback if you pay by card, and s75 too if you use a credit card for any of it.  Do you have travel insurance that covers supplier failure, if that's what your concern is?

What several people booked on P&O are doing is ringing the cruise line, requesting that their full payment is deferred until 4 weeks before the cruise; mixed results are reported, but some successes. Worth ringing RCL and asking the question?
