is it possible to make a claim directly to Mercedes rather than doing through a company that will take upto 50%

It is but a claim for what? If you’re claiming on an insurance policy or a warranty then you just speak to Mercedes directly.

if you’re looking to make a complaint then you put your complaint points in writing and send them off to Mercedes. Dare I ask why you think you’ve got a complaint with Mercedes?

A claims company has just started TV advertising for suckers customers who believed their car had lower emissions than it actually did. 

It's starting to attract those who miss the good old days of buying spectacularly expensive stamps from claims companies.
