Hi,
Any advice on reselling flights online? We have flights Geneva to Malta and Malta to London, non-refundable, can't claim on insurance as basically comes down to disinclination to travel now that government has lifted restrictions on travel. Thanks.

Change of name fee may wipe out the cost of the fare, have you accounted for this?
  • Hi,
Perhaps somebody can advice me: We have a booking for a house in lake district in Sept 4th. for 12 people, most all related but 7 different households? Government guidelines say no more than 2 households

per. accommodation. Full balance is due end of July. Advice of the letting company is if we cancel we will lose the deposit if they cannot re-let it,  despite the guidelines. There answer is they are waiting for the Gov. Guidelines to be lifted  and still taking bookings.
We really want to cancel as this is causing anxiety amongst members due to covid and 7 households in one house some sharing bedrooms,
But I don't feel it is right we should lose the deposit as at the moment we can't go.
Booked in February, Have holiday insurance.

speak to your insurance...although they may also expect you to wait till closer to the time to see what the rules are for your travel dates - if covered they should cover the number of people on your policy and the others will need to claim on their own insurance

Hang on....has this recently started thread just been hijacked by a totally different question?
  • @hollins1933 did you mean to start a new thread rather than reply to this one?
  • @bradders1983 change of name fee is EUR60 per person and flights were unfortunately rather more expensive than that

I would be careful.   Presumably you will have to change the names and pay for the name change?     I don't know how it works for sure but I do know I would not consider paying face value for second hand tickets and would not hand over any money until they were in my name.    You are reliant on strangers honouring their side of things.   If they don't then not only are you stuck with tickets in someone else's name, you have paid extra to do so.
