Furlough, job search and notice / redundancy

So I've been on furlough from the beginning. Before lock down I was job searching. Slowly people have been recalled and I'm now from a team of 8, 1 of the 3 not been called back. I'm probably better paid than the ones back and I'm starting to worry.
I have an interview next week for a much better role. I have heard that my company will need to make redundancies going forward. Instead of handing in my notice, could I put forward an option of voluntary reducancy instead of my notice? This company has screwed me and anyone over ever chance they have got but I'm guessing I won't get redunacy if I have a job to go to?

There is certainly no law against you asking, but if your company has screwed you over at every opportunity, I'm not sure they'd want to pay you redunancy if they don't have to.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

If you have a better job to go to why worry about a bit of redundancy money? Just go.0

Sorry what I was trying to say, I think the company will be making redundancies. I'm looking for another job anyway. If I secure another job, could I put myself forward for voluntary reducancy, get a smallish Pauly out and walk to another job vs just quitting.0

If you find a new job and then ask for VR rather then just quitting you may find even if they accept it by the time it all goes through etc your new job won't wait. Best just leaving with your notice period if you find a new job to go to.0
