Hen weekend accommodation is booked for September

I have a hen weekend booked for September and paid a deposit. There will be 20 people from 18 different households attending. The company I booked through have said that they will not return my deposit and that I am to claim it on my holiday insurance. My holiday insurance say they will only pay for my part of it. What options do I have as I don’t think that we will be allowed to participate in the event with COVID

I doubt anyone can say what the rules will be regarding number households etc will be in September.
It is common for insurance policies to cover the insured person, the others should look to claim off their own policies assuming that their policies cover the situation (some companies may not consider a claim until nearer the time when it is clearer whether the situation will be allowed or not)
Have you asked whether it is possible to change the dates? have you rescheduled your wedding?0
