Hi I am thinking of using Air B n B to rent out my house.  I will still be staying there during the week and just renting it out mainly at weekends.

Hi I am thinking of using Air B n B to rent out my house.  I will still be staying there during the week and just renting it out mainly at weekends.  I have rung my mortgage company and they said I would have to change to a buy to let mortgage that they don't offer, so this would mean changing lender.  My mortgage is only £16k and i have a great rate of 0.85%.  Does anyone know a way I would be able to keep this rate as I dont want to lose it as we would like to portal this rate to our next mortgage.
Also, on dodgy ground here, but how would my mortgage company know if I have Air B n B'd it?
Am wondering if it is all going to be too much hassle.  Would be great to hear from other people who have rented out their properties.

Asking for a friend.....   So you want to know how you can act fraudulently with your mortgage company: Fine, OK.

How would you feel if a tenant under AirbNb decided to apply to rent the place but planned to fraudulently break AirBnB's conditions & yours and e.g. run a Brothel, cannabis farm or live there permanently so you'd be unable to evict as they'd have an AST and you'd not got paperwork for a valid s21.

No - you came here to find/justify ways to act fraudulently - you may get told how to but you'll also be advised not to and the risks to go with it

You do know that it would have to be set up as furnished rental, immaculately clean and with all personal belongings locked away as well as liability insurance?
Is it in an area where you could expect a good rate of bookings? Would you be available to deal with any emergencies.
At the end of the day why not just have a short term lodger either all week or Mon-Fri and know how much extra income you are getting?

Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

    Do AirBnB still exist?
Yes, many will go bust this year and next though IMO, or flood the normal lettings market forcing down rents, which I suppose is a silver lining, just not for the AirBnB`er.
