Have I Just Grown a Weed?

Hi, I planted a rose seed on the first day of lockdown. 100 days later, I have this:
I didn't think a rose would grow that quickly. Now, today, I see these sprouting on a couple of stems:
reminiscent of a dandelion. Have I spent 4 months watering and repotting a weed?

I think you've grown some ragwort. And you should burn it or chuck it.
Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...0 -
Amazing, reminds me of the years I spent nurturing a Kiwi which turned into a HazelEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

You could use it as a houseplant for a while to get some enjoyment from your work rather than just binning it.0

The title of this thread made me chuckle as many, many years ago, my grandmother (who could make anything grow) decided to plant some seeds that her caged bird refused to eat. The seeds grew into lovely, bushy plants that my grandmother was really pleased with until the local policeman, on a courtesy visit, told her that if she didn't get rid of it then he would have to arrest her for growing marijuana. My poor grandmother was mortified! I just wish that I had her green fingers. My mother has inherited them but I think that it's skipped over me...3

It's not everyone who has the experience of growing an etiolated groundsel, so bask in your glory here as a boundary breaker in the world of house plant nurture. .0

You're not alone, OP. Some time ago I found Mr S carefully watering some 'seedlings'. He now knows what ground elder looks like.

I'm having a good chuckle here. I'm sure I've weeded some of my vegetable seedlings down the allotment when I've gotten a bit enthusiastic. It's why I prefer to bring them on in modules and then plant them out; that way I recognise what they are!
