Royal Mail Recorded delivery

I sent an item by Recorded delivery and unfortunately it never arrived. However I put in a claim to RM online and just uploaded the receipt and evidence of value and within two days I received a cheque for the lost item. Ok very disappointed the item was never delivered but RM were very efficient dealing with my claim. So my thanks go to their Customer service office in Plymouth for being so efficient. Very much appreciated.

I would put money on them not being lost but being in the system at DVLA. There was an article on tv last night about how behind DVLA were in dealing with things. Loads of people who have sent passports etc and not had them back. Hundreds of complaints from people waiting for driving licenses etc. Cant get through on the phones and when they do get through DVLA cannot track their items. Apparently there is a huge backlog of mail waiting to be dealt with at the DVLA and as each item will not be signed for individually there is no way of knowing if your item has arrived there.1
