All next week we’re playing our ‘Penalty Payout’ competition, and giving you the chance to walk away with a massive £1,000.

 

From Monday 20th July 2020, we will be playing ‘Penalty Payout’ live in talkSPORT Breakfast where we will bring one lucky listener to air each day to step up to the penalty spot with up to £1000 up for grabs!

You’ll be asked to identify from a piece of live commentary whether the penalty taken in-game was scored or not… answer correctly and you’ll win £250. Walk away or risk it all for penalty number 2! You’ll then be played a second clip to correctly identify from… get that right and you’ve won £500 overall. Step up to the spot for the final time and try your luck to win a massive £1000! But if you guess incorrectly you will walk away empty handed…

Entries must be received before the lines close at 9am on Monday 20th July 2020. Phone lines will reopen for the next days sequence shortly after the competition has been executed on air in talkSPORT Breakfast each day.

Penalty Payout Competition Rules

The following rules (“Specific Rules”) together with the general competition terms and conditions (which can be found at https://talksport.com/competition-terms-conditions) apply to “Penalty Payout” (the “Competition”) which will run from 00:01, 13th July 2020 until 09:00 on the 24th July 2020*. (the “Duration”) across talkSPORT (the “talkSPORT Network”), which encompasses the SMS databases for talkSPORT and talkSPORT 2. Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted the Specific Rules and talkSPORT’s General Competition Terms Conditions and will be bound by them.
*The Competition sequence on air will run from 09:00 20th July 2020 – 24th July 2020

Details of the Competition:
Entrants will be asked to register their details by texting in their name to talkSPORT to be in with a chance of playing ‘Penalty Payout’ on air which will take place every day in talkSPORT Breakfast from Monday 20th  July 2020 – Friday 24th July 2020.

To enter the Competition an Entrant must send a text message starting with the word WIN followed by their name, to 85544 (the “Text Message Line”) within the opening and closing times of the Competition. Text messages will be charged at £1.50 plus standard network rates.
One registered entrant will be selected at random and brought to air on talkSPORT between 09.00 – 10.00 each weekday from Monday 20th July 2020 – Friday 24th July 2020 to take part in the competition.  Reasonable endeavours will be made to contact the entrant during the specified time. If an entrant cannot be contacted or is not available, the Promoter reserves the right to re-draw another entrant from the valid/correct entries that were received during the Promotion Period.
Entrants will be asked to identify from an audio clip played out on air whether or not a penalty was scored or missed . There will be three rounds. If the entrants answers correctly in the 1st round they win £250. They can then opt to keep the cash or play to win £500 by answering correctly in Round 2. If the give a wrong answer they lose the cash from the first round. If they answer correctly in round 2 they then get the option to go to Round 3. If they answer correctly they win £1,000 . If they answer wrongly they lose all cash won in the previous rounds and get nothing.

The Text Message Line will open at 00:01 on Monday 13th July 2020 and close at 09:00 on Friday 24th July 2020 or until such time as the Promoter decides to close the competition (the “Duration”).
If Entrants text after the closing time, they will not be entered into the competition, but they may still be charged.
talkSPORT Limited is not responsible for any latency experienced by an Entrant’s mobile phone network, which may delay the delivery of text messages to and/or from us. Additionally, talkSPORT Limited is not responsible for any erroneous entries which may occur through a mobile phone network error or handset error.
When an Entrant enters the competition, they will receive a text message that invites them to take part in our 3-for-2 offer, whereby if they enter a second time within the same competition round, they will receive an additional entry at no extra cost. The additional entry will be automatically included once the Entrant enters for the second time and they will not need to text a third time to claim this. If they do text for a third time, the cycle recommences and they will be charged again. It is the responsibility of the Entrant to ensure that if they respond to this 3-for-2 offer, the text lines are still open when they do so. Otherwise, their additional entry and free entry may be charged but not included in the draw.
After the closing time of the Competition, one entrant will be selected at random from all of the correct entries received during the valid entry period. All winners will be contacted within 28 days of the Competition closing time. Misspelt entries may be accepted, at the discretion of the Producer. The Producer’s decision is final.

Eligibility:
Entrants must be aged 18 or over.
Entrants can enter a maximum of 20 times throughout each day of the competition. We strongly advise against excessive use.
Entrants must have a bank account, as the prize will be paid via cheque or bank transfer.
Prize:
The prize money won (£250, £500, or £1000) will be paid by either cheque or Bank Transfer.
The prize is non-transferrable.
talkSPORT limited reserves the right to change the prize or part of it at any time.
We will endeavour to pay winners as soon as possible but are not responsible for any delays in the banking system. Furthermore, the winner will be required to answer a call from talkSPORT Limited after the competition and supply all the required information (on email or via an online form, as directed) if they are to receive the bank transfer. Additionally, if any eligibility checks need to be carried out, this could delay the payment.
Publicity and Identity of Winners:
If you win a prize, we may publish your full name, town or area of residence and image indefinitely on our radio station website www.talkSPORT.com and within our mobile application the talkSPORT app and across our talkSPORT social channels. We will seek your permission before publishing.
