Morning all, it's a bit grey here and we are due rain/showers later.I rang Dad last night but there was no mention of anything that had taken place on Sat, or any remorse. Seems things have gone in one ear and out the other even though I shouted, a lot. Oh well his loss as he will not be invited over here any time soon, but I shall keep my promise and still ring him and do his shopping but that's all.Today I plan on avoiding all work, it'll be tough going but someones got to do it
There's plenty of stuff to do but I'm joining the sloth club today, so there
I noticed yesterday when I toured my stately garden, I wish, that my "fun" potatoes still haven't flowered, perhaps they never will now, just lots of foliage as they have grown to about 2.1/2 feet nigh and are as wide. Also when I sat in the garden reading yesterday afternoon, I saw some very noisy sparrows going in and out of the trowing next door, I think there's another brood on the way. Blimey that's got to be the forth or fifth lot this year
Gers enjoy seeing your DM, perhaps your visit will help to encourage her to get better sooner and then home.Nels I had to g00gle orzo, I thought it was some kind of drinkRight another coffee calls, I need to sort out my head this morning and hope that it helps :dizzyTake care all, stay safe and keep well. Hugs to all.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently14 -
Grey cloud here today and rain forecast for later this afternoon, what a change from yesterday when the sun shone all day and it was so hot we couldn’t sit in it!
Threw some bits on the BBQ yesterday, our favourite chicken and chorizo skewers and some sirloin steak, we have just bought a duel fuel one and last time we used the charcoal side but this time we used the gas side, must say I do prefer the charcoal taste but the gas is just so quick and convenient.
DS back from his weekend away, had a good time catching up with some old school friends but hasn’t stopped moaning about the price of everything in London, £6 for a BLT sandwich- they’re havin a laugh...😆
I have sent DH off to get a few bits as like nanny I don’t plan on doing anything today, a serious case of CBA😏my GUAG has definitely done just that.
Something with mince for dinner tonight, will leave it with DH I think.
I hope that my mojo returns soon!
Commiserations/congratulations as appropriate and get well vibes for those that need them

hi everyone
Going out for lunch today - but not till 1.30 as little one is asleep so I'm having a jam sandwich and a cuppa so I don't starve! After lunch we're going to pick strawberries - something I haven't done for years so I'm looking forward to it.
Yesterday we had a nice play in the garden - it was lovely when it was sunny but every so often a chilly wind would blow and toys would take off across the garden. We gave up after a while and just played with her ball and slide. Little one learnt how to climb up on the sofa yesterday - the cat was not impressed!
Hope everyone has a good day and Gers enjoy your visit to your mum

Afternoon all. Was waylaid by various things, chatting to OH, chatting to next door neighbour, getting up late etc.. OH became 'activated' yesterday. He was saying his GUAG had got up and gone so I said, well, you could try your new chainsaw on a rope thing. Three hours later....6 big branches later....The tree looks like it's been chewed by a mega hamster and the bits are all over the garden. Good job I booked to go to the tip is all I can say. My boot will be full of frondy bits and long thin sticks. The big chunky bits are going to be kept to saw down and season. Free wood, what's not to like? He's also painting the wall between us and next door [they gave us the paint] after a gentle prodding by neighbour this morning. Wel, it has been raining for a few weeks so there wasn't much point...The neighbour is missing his growing area, they used to grow potatoes and a few bits but he turned his top bit of garden into an astro turf play area for his grandchildren but has now identified another area he can use. I think he's missing it because he's between us [tomatoes, potatoes, squash courgette, all the usual suspects] and his next door neighbours who grow absolutely everything in their garden.Today, pottering in garden for me, moving stuff about, cutting bits of wood up etc.Nelski, I've only ever had orzo in broth, never tried a risotto from it, intrigued to know the results...enjoy! Meanmarie, happy belated anniversary! NRA, so sorry about your sister...TA, hope your brother can be helped...dp1 enjoy lunch and strawberry picking. Nanny, wow, welsh firecracker.....sometimes it just explodes when you keep it, let it out more often
Gers, glad you can visit your mum now, and ILC. Scarlet, are you sure you have to keep phoning her? I wouldn't be able to stop myself from saying something....Hey all reading along, meander around Monday....

Afternoon all. Just started to drizzle now so DH has just finished the bedding off in the tumble dryer.
We had lunch outside which was a split muffin with avocado and a poached egg chopped tomato and spring onions with fresh coriander on the side. One of our favoirites.
Gers I hope the visit to DM went well. Thinking of Bella, NRA, Reruby and anyone else facing trials abd tribulations.
Have good afternoon folks.

Thanks folks - just returned from hospital visit and feel so much happier now. DM is very frail though on the 'mend' as far as mending can be done. UTI gone, there may be a chest infection so she's still on ABs. I'm feeling much more hopeful than last week!11

Afternoon all.
Gers, so glad that your DM seems to be on the mend, you must be so relieved.
I've spent the morning going through all the stuff I moved down from Somerset and have been storing ever since in my friends barn. That was 5 years ago, but now it's time to sort it out. oh my goodness! What on earth was I thinking of? The rubbish I've been storing up! And what am I to do with it? Much of it is too good to send to the tip, much though I'd like to. And the books! Every available space in my new bungalow is stuffed with them and there seems to be as many again.
Marie Kondo eat your heart out!
Am now collapsed on the sofa before finding a man with a van to take it all..................somewhere?
See you tomorrow.I believe that friends are quiet angels
