My Nan is 101 yrs old and hasn’t lived in her own home for the last couple of years. My mum and uncle have been taking care of her. Two weeks at one and the two weeks at the others. The money should be held in an account in your grandmother's name.
If she needs a walk in shower, it seems to me that it would be legitimate to use up to her Attendance Allowance for the year to cover the cost.
Presumably she gets the higher rate - around £4635 a year.
