Yelloh Village refusing to amend dates

Hi there
Have booked a week at Yelloh Village Les Mouettes for us and 3 young kids. Would never have booked to go away in a pandemic and now don't want to travel. Have asked if they will rebook us for next year considering that our ferry company has allowed us to, but they have refused. Anyone had similar experiences with these resorts?

    from their site
"Postponements until the following season are not permitted. If no alterations are made, customers must spend their holidays as they were agreed when initially booked, or cancel them in line with the conditions pertaining to the cancellation insurance."
Did you take their cancellation insurance?

Why should I take out cancellation insurance?

If you do not have cancellation cover and if you cancel your booking, all amounts paid shall be retained.

Unless the site is closed and not accepting guests you will be bound by the original contract agreed.

  • All goes back to the terms and conditions (as so often spouted on here)  IF you booked on a non cancellation basis and the camp site is up and running when you are due to be there then you don't have any options.   IF, it is closed (you don't say when you are/were due to travel) then it is a different story.     UNLESS you booked as a package and your ferry is cancelled then different situation again, but by sound of things it wasn't.

Your only option may be your insurance?  Although most insurance policies do not cover for disinclination to travel.
  • @glitter_rose, you booked, like many people on the basis of the world turning as normal.

Your only option as stated in the Ts and Cs (quoted by @Caz3121) is to claim on cancellation cover IF you purchased it.

If you don't want to travel, unfortunately that's your choice and not theirs - and they're entitled to refuse to move you.
They didn't create the pandemic, and are in it as much as you - and the party who decides you can't travel should stump up the bill. If they'd cancelled then they'd pick up the tab, but as they're open it's your choice and thus your loss to bear.

What have your travel insurance company said?
