Holidays

Have been furloughed since 1st April. Have been told on the 8th July during final consultation that I am to be made redundant on the 31st July. Was also informed that 12 of the days between now and then would be 12 days holiday with 5 days redundancy period. Just read that twice the amount of notice needs to be given during furlough of forced holiday. Does this apply to those being made redundant?

It applies whether or not you are made redundant, or whether or not you are on furlough. It is in paragraph 15 of the Working Time Regulations 1998. It can be overruled by your contract of employment, so check that first. If by 5 days redundancy period you mean a week's notice, your employer can ask you to take those days as holiday as well.

One thing to consider is, if they're unable to force you to take all of it as holiday, they might instead require you to turn up to work immediately. It might not be the kind of positive work environment you really want to be a part of just now given that you are being made redundant, so even though you're entitled to the notice of holidays, you might prefer to let it slide rather than have to work until the 31st.

It will be better to start your own thread with your question because it's totally unrelated to what the original question is about, which causes confusion.
