Caravan Site Issues

Not sure which section to post this in really, my father passed away in February this year and used to live on a permanent site, the site owners appeared to be really good about this and said we didn’t have to hurry to move it. Due to lockdown we wasn’t in a position to move the trailer off the pitch anyway, now we are trying to move the trailer to sell it. The bill on site has been going up £600 a month even though we couldn’t get access and now they’re saying we can’t remove it till the bill is paid!
any ideas where we stand with this? It appears when someone dies those who you think are friendly and helpful just try and screw you over.
even the mortgage companies and banks put everything on hold till it’s dealt with.

£600 pcm is very high, did it include utilities and/or Council Tax.
If the money is genuinely owed, then it doesn't seem unfair that the debt is paid before the trailer is removed, the legal term is lien.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Is there a contract or lease agreement of some sort?Maybe if you cannot find your fathers ask other caravan owners and see if they have one and the terms regarding death / fees etcMay be advertise it as on site, does it have to be moved to be sold?Sorry for your lossBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles

That is for the replies, it does need to be removed as they continually charges us full rates. As it is not a static caravan but a movable one trying to sell it based on one pitch would be near on impossible, the only reason such an amount is owed is due to not having access to the site because of COVID-19.0

£600 is still a lot for a month's site rental, it equates to £7,200 a yearYdidntI said:That is for the replies, it does need to be removed as they continually charges us full rates. £600 a month or £600 since he passed away in Feb (assuming he was up to date with his bill). Seems very expensive for a caravan site.0

Did you try to gain access to ove, were prevented by the site owners and can prove they stopped you? Might have an argument thenAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0
