Self Employed grant and fund information - Scotland

:'(  So we missed the deadline of Self Employed Support Grant - left it too late to start the application and encountered technical issues!

Is there any group in MSE that I should join that is Scotland focus and sever as a single point of information so I don't miss any major deadline like this again?  Are there other grant we could apply for?  I have looked through Scottish Government website but cannot find any.

Bounce back loan - understand that it is interest free for a year and will need to pay back.  However, if we spent the money on paying wages and rent. how would one pay it back?

Have been trying to contact accountant since March but the only email I received  back is 'staff on furlough and office hours are limited'.  How long do I wait until I start looking for a new accountant?

Thanks

Do you being to any federations or federation of small businesses?  Do you watch any news or read any newspapers?  Have you looked on your local councils web pages to see what is more  local?   I think you have to become a bit more savvy and hunt for info.  As for new accountant, any time you like.  Bounce back loan is paid back from profits.

I'm not sure why you talk about Scotland focus, as the self employed grant was UK wide (there is a small Scottish grant for a few self employed people who can't get the main self employed grant, but it is almost impossible to qualify for it). Nicola Sturgeon led daily coronavirus briefings.

A BBL should be repaid out of future profits of the business. It is to tide the business over a difficult time.

You can instruct a new accountant at any time, but they will need to seek clearance to act for you from your current accountant.

Don’t see why you can’t apply this Tuesday for the second SEISS grant

You won't be able to apply for the 2nd one until around August.

I don't under why you think you've left it too late because applications are still open until 13th July. Unless of course you mean that you didn't submit your tax returns on time, if you didn't then you won't be able to claim for the 2nd grant either.
