Lexus Ct 200H 2013 worth it??

Car Giant would be very happy to sell you a warranty. Personally, Jack's magic beans would likely be more useful.1

You don't need a warranty on a CT200H. Underneath its a Prius one of the most reliable cars on the road, there is a reason Taxi drivers love them.
They hold their prices well because of their reliability and low running costs, will do 50mpg+ on normal unleaded, with no worries about DPF/turbos/timing belts etc.
We have had a IS300H since new, my sister in law recently got a CT300H. We have a whole load of BMW/Mercs before in the family and Lexus is by far the most reliable brand.
As long as you are happy with the spec go for it.

It's a damn near ten grand, late-middle-aged, very complicated car with a heck of a lot of gadgets and fripperies. The price of the tax disc is the least important thing to get excited about.Derekvoowo said:0 for road tax as well.
On the other hand, it's a posh Prius, so as bomb-proof as any late-middle-aged, very complicated car with a heck of a lot of gadgets and fripperies is going to be. Ten thousand minicab drivers can't be wrong.1 -
is this thread a bit dark0

Only a fool buys a low annual mileage car. Low mileage means short journeys and mostly urban driving, both of which are much harder on a car than journeys where they're able to get properly up to temperature and on out of town roads. You use the gears, clutch, brakes and steering much much more driving around town than on a non-urban road at the national speed limit. Throw in speed humps as well and it's clear cars that spend their lives doing the school run and weekly shop will get hammered much more. You'll also find things like the exhaust need replacing sooner too because the moisture that builds up inside them from condensation never gets burned off.MalMonroe said:Too expensive for me, and the mileage is too high.

Only that I've had my car from new and it only really ventures out on longer runs apart from my commute, it's still below average mileage.MinuteNoodles said:

Thanks for help. Is the car chain or belt and is the battery covered until warranty until 8 years or 100,000 mileage what would be the biggest repair coming up to 80k thanks0

The engine has a timing chain.0

Given the level of doubt the OP has on this car, it's not the correct car to go forward with.0

You don't need to worry about the traction battery, I doubt Lexus UK has ever needed to replace much more than a handful.Derekvoowo said:Thanks for help. The CT has the same battery as the Prius which will last 200k+ miles.
If you only owned German cars before than I can understand your worry about reliability, but Lexus/Toyota are in a different, their cars on the whole are bullet proof.
