Argos not collecting fault fridge-freezer

Hi,
This is my first post on this forum.
I need some advice. We purchased a fridge-freezer from Argos, it was faulty and they have replaced the fridge-freezer with a new one; however they refused to take the old item "collection is a different team". I contacted customer service who said it could take upward for 2 months to collect. We have no room in our house to have a fridge laying about for 2 months.
Can anything be done? Can storage fees be charged for this inconvenience?
Thanks in advance

Under the circumstances it is one of those things.you have to just put up with it.
Give them a ring and explain the see what they say.
Ni you cannot charge storage as this has not been agreed in advance by both partiesmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
i had a similar situation with a tv (not argos) i was given the same sort of timeline for a collection i ended the call with "ok thats fine i will leave it on the doorstep just collect it whenever you can" they phoned me back with a next day collection0

Thanks for the replies
I never agreed to store the faulty fridge. When the replacement was ordered I was explicitly told it would be collected at the same time the replacement was delivered.
Chili1496. If I go that route, what am I liable for if it goes missing?

I was in a 1 bed flat with a similar issue, I just told the call handler it physically wasn't possible and I'd leave it out for them to collect.
While they could pursue you, it's unlikely they would as most companies are now collecting as usual.0 -
Put it on my doorstep it would be gone in a couple if hours !!!

Currently it is sitting against the wall in the kichen, which is obstructing the kichen door from opening, can only open 1/2 way. Only other place is the middle of the kitchen0 -
If I leave it out in the entry, it will get damaged due to the rain, kids/teenagers walking past or it will get stolen.
I think a week is an overly long time for Argos not to collect the fridge, especially if they have a "Dedicated" team for collections0
