First time posting here 😊
It’s time to renew the insurance for the WAV and I’m looking for your recommendations for insurance companies please?
The current policy is with fish insurance, which includes breakdown cover specifically for WAVs. I’d also be interested to know if you know of another breakdown company that provides the same type of recovery service as this may make insurance cheaper.

Thank you.

I have just bought a secondhand WAV and would appreciate any recommendations on a reliable insurance,  not too expensive

Sadly, I suspect there are not too many posters here using WAVs, which is why there were no responses to the original post.

For unusual situations, I always suggest using a broker. I suspect you'll struggle with using the standard comparison sites in any event, because it's an unusual vehicle. Google suggests several companies which specialise in this area, and at least one broker.

The OP mentioned Fish Insurance, and they seem to be the main insurer in this area.
Their insurance covers repairs to any modifications that make the vehicle wheelchair accessible, as well as any damage to the standard vehicle itself.
Normal insurance policies do not cover the modifications.
You get breakdown cover included as well as third party cover if you want to drive another vehicle. Plus like normal you can nominate additional drivers.
Cost will vary of course but probably will be in the region of a few hundred Pounds.

Yup, that's why I don't think @Doodly will get very far with the standard comparison sites: as soon as you say the vehicle has been modified, the 'computer says no' flags start waving madly!
