Bella and Gers I'm sorry your mums are not well. I shall keep them in my thoughts.
We got up to Yorkshire last night to find some monster weeds in the front parking area so some work then. Unfortunately I found this morning that although I'd put my pill box in it was empty of most of my tablets, cue a call to Boots in Settle who provided me with a weeks supply of what I need, costly though but if can get my surgery to send them a prescription next week I can get a refund.
I want to clean round today so that we have chance to go out and about the rest of the week. We were asked if we would rent it out for a month in a couple of weeks but we turned it down, it's too early for us. All being well we have decided to reopen booking for the middle of September.

Afternoon everyone, I've been a busy beetle today. The morning was bliss, I seemed to have the world to myself at 5.30, just the birds for company (and a squirrel) and the sun shone and everything smelt fresh.
I have a load of towels to bring in from the line. I've mown the back garden, added stuff to the compost and mixed it up as far as I can, started attacking three massive anthills in the front garden - I have more or less flattened one and I've opened the others up and cruelly sprinkled ant killing powder. I am hoping to kill off some of them before I try to dig out the remaining hills. They are brown meadow ants. We have the more usual black ants under the flagstones in the back. I don't really mind them being under things but I do mind about knee high anthills.
OH has made me fishcakes, a favourite and I'm getting hungrier and hungrier, knowing they are in store for me.
I have been thinking of you and your mums, Gers and bellabella, and hoping that positive thoughts will help.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back10 -
Sorry to be so late, today sort of got away from me. Couldn't tell you what Ive done, but admiring my new curtains has been part of it. Amazing how just one thing can turn a house into a home.
I'll try to get here at a more civilised time tomorrow.
Gers, sorry about your DM's situation. Even sorrier if it spoils your time at home. Do try not to worry too much.
bella, I've been thinking about you and your DM too. Such a difficult time for you all.
AOD I feel your pain. I've just discovered that a multitude of ants have moved in. I'm standing on the ramparts with a vat of boiling oil. Metaphorically speaking.I believe that friends are quiet angels
