Good morning folks. My night was troubled, DM now has delirium again, caused no doubt my the UTI which is proving difficult to shift. I spoke to a doc who tried hard to reassure me though my confidence in him was knocked when he said that he'd only met my DM yesterday for the first time. I'll be calling back later on.Yesterday I drove up to Oban to collect a new lawn mower. I checked that the outside power supply was working and that the extension lead was OK so it's definitely the machine which is dead. On the way back I called in to see a couple of elderly friends who live high above Croabh Haven, the track up to their place always terrifies me. It was so lovely to see them after so long. The husband had been cutting their grass with his big sit on mower which brought out the swallows which began to swoop and swerve over the grass catching disturbed insects. This chap is calling in later to look at my dodgy front door. It won't open from outside, only inside (pretty useless for a door) so a trek through the barn is needed just now.I spent a bit of time in the garden pulling out weeds and cutting back the rampant clematis. The Rosemary bush is particularly wild, not sure that my secateurs will cut through it. The mint seems to have decanted itself from the terracotta pot, which is now empty, into the ground. I have random clumps of chives everywhere too. 😀😀BELLA - my thoughts are with you. And with all those facing challenging times. ❤️Happy Saturday to all.13

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, sorry to hear your DM isn't too good.
After a sunny start it's clouded over, hope it cheers up and a friend and I are going to the seaside for the day for fish and chips! I think it will be very windy too so am taking a warm jacket (raincoat and wellies would probably be better).
I walked to the allotment and back yesterday, just under 6 miles but I quite enjoyed it, you see so much more than whizzing past in the car. I picked another 2 courgettes so will drop them off at DDs on my way to collect my pal.
There are now 2 poppies flowering in the tub on the deck, they are such a gorgeous colour and the bees seem to love them. They are from a packet of seeds I bought in the Netherlands last year so happy they are flowering.
Hugs to you and your DM bella.
Happy Saturday and take care. XX

Morning everyone
Gers - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH watching catchup tv, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my cuppa and porridge whilst on here. DS1 just showered and now eating scrambled egg and toast. DS2 settled and happy.
Sunny bright start to the day. I have some washing out on the line already, more in the WM - I'll peg that out once it's finished.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken, chips and beans/veg/salad for the menfolk, I had fishcakes and salad. Tonight we're having a bbq - we'll be having chicken, burgers, sausages, beef sticks, salad, hot new potatoes etc - be nice to sit outside - because our holiday didn't happen, we've bought a new patio table and chairs - we've been looking for a while but the plastic one's are not great and quite expensive - so we found a wrought iron and wood set that is lovely and well made, so we purchased that - first time using it this weekend.
Keep safe and well x

WEIGHTLOSS SINCE JUNE 2009 - 5 ST 2LB11 -
Morning all! sunny sunny sunny, woop! Yesterday turned into a busy day after. The woodstore is made apart from some wood to reinforce the sides [ I feel a nail gun frenzy coming on] so I'll get on that after more waking up tea and then it can wait for the OH to paint it black to go with all the other fences. I made gooseberry, apple and vanilla jam, six pots in the end with a dribble left over in a mug for breakfast when I make bread, which is on the agenda for today. I also did two pound jars of gooseberries in syrup as per @Si_Clist instructions and the MAF book. I think it worked, we'll see. That took me to eleven o clock last night so today is going to be quieter.Making that thing yesterday made me really appreciate my power tools. I used the compound mitre saw, the jigsaw and the drill for screwing, I don't even want to think of how it would have taken without those. Especially since I can't hand saw a straight cut to save my life..The OH didn't fancy lentils so he just had meat and I very virtuously ate them, mostly because they're low fat, high protein but also because I like the texture. It's a little bit like caviar, you know when you eat the eggs and they go pop pop pop in your mouth. Not fussed on caviar at all though I think I went through a phase of buying it about thrity years ago from a little deli in Cardiff in one of the alleys when I lived there, just because of the texture, but not really the taste.Sorry to hear about your mother Gers. Just satellite mapped the place you mentioned, wow, edges of the wild or what! Enjoy your potential caravan trip wmf. Camelot, your poppies sound lovely. Mine [ if they grow] grow anywhere but where I threw them. There was one growing in the crack under the porch. Most annoying when there's plenty of other places it could live. Not sure if that's a life metaphor or not. Anyway, hey al readers along, sing the song of Saturday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Morning all, I have been up early waiting for an Iceland delivery. While I waited I have stripped the bed, washed the bedding and hung it out, then did another load which was also put out on the whirly. I even hoovered the dining room, alas I'm sure this flurry of activity won't last even until tomorrow probably ! All shopping items present and delivered, the first time since March from any SM. I let Mr Fix It do the cleaning, anything to stop him hovering and being a back seat driver
We will play deliveroooo and drop off Dad's shopping after the washing has finished and I've hung it out. The sun was shining fair to split the stones earlier but now some clouds have arrived and are spoiling the view
I really shouldn't complain as it is quite warm.Later I shall play freezer tetris and take things out of their boxes and put them in bags, it will give me some room to put a loaf of bread in there. I need to sort out the fridge too as I still have some milk to shoehorn in, it is still dripping on a tea towel on the worktop after being disinfected. Unfortunately I have no idea what to have for tea now I have too much choice !This afternoon I need to remake the bed and throw the hoover around the bedroom, then hopefully I can retire to the patio and read
Thinking of the ones who are struggling at the moment and sending many hugs to all.Take care, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -

Just catching up and wanted to say sorry about your mum's diagnosis Bella.
Take care9 -
So sorry to read about your mum Bella hugs for all of you xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.9
