Self employed help scheme

As self employed I apply for help scheme back in May. I made the error when I was feeling the form I put the wrong account number and went to a wrong person. I have trying to contact HMRC on many occasions but they told me to wait and dealing with it and now they told they cant help to get the money back. Any advice how to proceed in order to get the money back please. Thanks in advance.

There was a thread similar to this in 2017:

If HMRC won't do anything, you will struggle. You need to write to them and set out all the facts. They may not do anything, in which case you make a complaint. You may not get anywhere, but as I assume you will not be declaring the grant as income, you will have a paper trail justifying that decision if HMRC ask why you didn't.1 -
It sounds like you’ve been through the process with them - and unfortunately bank transfers are irreversible for the most part.Keep pushing them, but for now I’d write the money off and make alternative arrangements.0
