Need Help to Transfer Photos from Phone to EHD

Hi Guys,
Just over a year ago I bought a Samsung J4+ mobile and I've now run out of space because I've taken hundreds of photos. I looked on YT but couldn't find the help I needed so I'd really appreciate someone giving me step-by-step instructions as to what I need to do to transfer the photos from my phone onto an external hard drive using my MacBook Pro. Please keep it simple because I struggle with the technical terminology. I look forward to receiving your help.

On your Macbook goto photos.google.com/ in your browser (or just click on my link).
Are all your photos there? If so select them ("tick" the first and "shift+tick" the last to select all) and then click on options (3 vertical dots top right) and download.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.1 -
