Right, final update, just had a phone call with aqua, and I've managed to get them to half the interest charge, so £240 instead of £480, which is much better. Had I waited those three extra days it would have been zero. I will be shredding the card at my first opportunity.

I'd still push for all the interest to be waived.

There's no harm in trying again penners324, I'll give it a go, see if I can push a bit more.
  • I agree with penners - the letter that you published here definitely says there would be no interest charges and they honour that - I think you should push for it all to be waived

Ok, I've raised a complaint with them, giving them the details of all letters asking for all interest to be tescos. Only downside is, it can take up to 8 weeks to resolve, and I'll go down as a missed payment in the meantime.

Do you mean you'll get a missed payment by not settling the £240? If so - would it be worth paying the £240 - and continuing with the complaint - with the aim to get it refunded later? So as to avoid the missed payment marker? You could send a letter with payment by cheque (if you still have a chequebook) stating that you are making payment under protest whilst your complaint is being investigated in order to avoid a missed payment marker on your credit file, but that you expect them to uphold your complaint upon investigation, and refund the payment accordingly? Just a thought.

That’s great to hear - and you’ve avoided a missed payment marker as well. That’s a great result. Thanks for coming back and giving an update.
