Expedia hotel cancellation but not flights
We booked flights and hotels through Expedia for a trip to Tenerife on the 22nd of July. We have been contacted and told that the hotel has been cancelled as it is closed until the 11th of August. However, the flights which are with EasyJet have not been cancelled. Expedia have explained that they have no contact with EasyJet and cannot cancel the flights. We have contacted EasyJet directly and they explained that the flights are non-refundable and all we can do is change the flights and pay the admin fee and any fare difference. Has anyone else experienced this situation or have any advice?

Yes my daughter and her friend have booked a trip to spain via Expedia - booking the hotel and flights together with them. The hotel was cancelled and they thought the flights were too. But have found out the flights (with Easy Jet) are still going ahead and therefore valid - I thought this was a package as they bought and paid one provider. So surely expedia have to honor that and refund the full amount - as the holiday package is not deliverable - any suggestions on how to get their money back?

As we are now on 25 July I am assuming you have worked something out with Expedia so either you are on your holidays at a different hotel or it was cancelled. Maybe you could let us know when you can what happened?roynbaker said:We booked flights and hotels through Expedia for a trip to Tenerife on the 22nd of July. Hellsbells you don't say when your daughter is due to travel? If they booked a package then Expedia probably have t's and c's which allow them to transfer to another hotel? If they can't find one then they should be able to apply for a refund. Check the t's and c's first.Hellsbells66 said:Yes my daughter and her friend have booked a trip to spain via Expedia - booking the hotel and flights together with them. Sorry for the late reply. We spoke with Expedia after a very long hold time of over an hour and they just said that there was nothing they could or would do as they are effectively 3rd party agents and the booking is with EasyJet. So we went on hold with EasyJet for over an hour and they said that the flights were going and the options were to change the flight times for the cost of a re-booking fee or loose the money. So the flights were changed to the end of August and a new hotel booked. Unfortunately my son gets back less than 7 days before he starts Uni and there is a 14 day quarantine to go through so now he is going to loose the cost of the flights and the new hotel!!0
