Brightness levels keep changing when opening Opera

I recently installed Opera as an extra search engine (I always use Chrome) as I was having trouble with Microsoft edge. I have noticed that each time I open Opera it changes my brightness levels to 100%, so I have to go in and reset them every time. Has anyone else had this problem or anyone know why this happens and how to fix it? Thanks.
(It makes no difference if it is on auto setting either, it still changes)

Top right of your address bar should have a battery saver icon......Use that to alter settings. It's a built in feature.

It is a microsoft surface laptop. Can't see any battery saver settings in Opera only option to change to dark mode.

Sometimes it does change back automatically to my settings, but not always. Seems it can't make its mind up.
