Ambulance station - noisy?

As already said, sirens might not be a problem, but it will obviously generate traffic, noise from maintenance, reversing sounders etc. How big a station is it? I expect will make the house relatively unattractive if the alternatives are much more peaceful.JReacher1 said:I've found a great house that is lovely and fits my requirements 100%. The only issue with it is that it is very near an ambulance station (literally next door). The rest of the area is very rural and there is a big garden and open fields to the back. My concern is that an ambulance station will be incredibly noisy if sirens are going off 24/7. Does anyone have experience of living near one?1 -
I live up the road from a fire station and I don’t really hear the sirens at night but I do see blue flashing lights going past. It’s never really bothered me. If you have kids like me then they like seeing the “nee-naws” going past in the daytime 😊1

Back in the old days they used to put the two tone sirens right over the cab of transits and Bedford CF,s
With fibre glass bodies and no insulation they were damn noisey inside the cab with or without the windows open.
Air con involved winding down the windows.
Modern vehicles have the sirens low down at the front of the vehicle.1 -

I went to have a look and it’s a no. The ambulance station looked like the sort of property that would be a perfect for a little Tesco so I wouldn’t be surprised if it became one at some point in the future. Plus the road the house was on is surprisingly very busy and near a main junction. It was not as rural as I thought it would be.Thanks everyone for your advice!0
