Holiday re-arranged am I covered by travel insurance

In February I booked a cottage in France for 2 weeks holiday in July. Due to the uncertainty in June the owner agreed that we could delay our booking until September. At the time of the original booking, pre Covid, I had annual travel insurance, which included travel disruption. In May I renewed, with the same company, but they no longer include cover for travel disruption. Before I pay the balance I tried to find out from them if I would be covered if the holiday has to be cancelled because we are advised against foreign travel. The only answer I got was that cancellation due to Covid 19 is not covered and would not have been in July either. It was as though the person was reading from a script

Hi Margaret, As they have said you are not then you probably won't be.
I think I would try to find different insurance cover. This was put on an earlier thread by Searcher so have a look. I haven't looked to see what it says. It may help.
There are insurance policies that have COVID cover. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/cheap-travel-insurance/#annual
