Can I 'remote control' electric heating over the internet?

Scrap that - The transponder unit will do the job just fine.
So the solution is :
1) a transponder linked to the telephone that will
a) turn on the electric fires on command 2 hours before I get home
b) turn on the immersion heatr the night before to get E7
2) install a thermostat to turn on the E7 SH's when the temperature drops to (say) 10 degrees
Sounds like a perfect solution to me - and all for about £250. I reckon that'll pay for itself in under a year ! Thanks a million.
Add to that, I can also rig up a smoke sensor and motion detector to the transponder to call me in the event of either of them being activated - Bonus !0 -
Thats good stuff.
Just remember your E7 timeswitch will be switching your heating on for 7 hours a night so if you don't need that due to the cost as you stated earlier, get it changed to a standard 1 rate meter.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
