Trouble with executors/solicitor

Options
My partner died 3  1/2 Yrs ago we had been together 25 years I was never accepted by his family all those years or invited to any social gatherings.  In his will he left me an equal share to children/executors.  They spent the first two years after his death trying to make me pay for my partners half share of our house although we were joint tenants and should not even be included, as our house automatically became mine on his death.
They have found excuses not to let me see a statement of accounts for the 3 1/2 years and will not communicate with me at all, there is no sign in sight of them ever settling his will or me receiving what my partner wanted me to have.

It might be as well for you to take legal advice.
Try a STEP solicitor expert in contentious probate.

Have you complained to the solicitor who is acting for the estate?

I agree, you need to talk to a solicitor of your own and have them write to the executors / executor's solicitor.

All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)
  • I have always spoke to the solicitor via letter or email as my partners children/executors don’t speak to me I have asked to see the estate accounts a number of times but they will not show them to me.  I have had two solicitors send letters to the solicitor dealing with my partners estate and they get no reply.  Their solicitor who is dealing with the will tried to take £80,000 out of my inheritance saying we were not joint owners as our solicitor had made a mistake and registered our house wrong when my solicitor contacted them to say there had been no mistakes as I owned the house and they couldn’t charge me for something I already owned on my partners death they told her to keep her nose out, as they were dealing with everything.  So this is how it continues so now they don’t reply to any solicitor who writes to them or me.
