I am paying the penalty for slothfulness. I thought I would delay cleaning even longer by having yet another cup of coffee, whilst sitting idle and doing nothing. Getting the milk from the fridge I dropped the carton and was left with what looked like gallons of milk all over the kitchen floor. Grr some choice words were uttered."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14

Morning all, I've been catching up on the last couple of days news, DGD has been hogging my laptop so didn't even read let alone post! The weather has been atrocious, just opening the front door this morning I can hear the waterfall from the brook that turns into a torrent. DS2 and I managed to drag the DGC to the park yesterday only on an ice cream promise - the cafe isn't opening until next week but they open the side window to sell ice cream and drinks. The grass there is so long now we all got a bit damp walking back - not sure why it hasn't been cut since lockdown but it's not good for the dogwalkers, especially those with small dogs
at least I can still see Ly1a.Tea last night was a use up of bacon/ sausage /eggs with beans, not sure about tea yet.I need to go and tidy upstairs, well downstairs as well if I'm honest
I have put out a charity bag this morning, mainly DS2s stuff from the loft that is too big now.Best wishes for Gers and DM, and also RR & DD, and Taff going forward, & of course anyone else who needs them xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all! Dull and grey here but quite warm. Not our cats sister decided to stay all day yesterday too so not a lot got done. I think her owner is away, her car isn't there so she was probably bored and came round for a sleep. I 'found' a smoked gammon joint in the freezer yesterday when I was inventory-ing, so that has been soaking overnight and is now in the slow cooker with lentils, thyme, tomatoes, onion, celery and carrots. Last night it was supper for one so I got to eat a couple of things I really like and OH detests. Brains faggots and marrowfat peas..was bloody lovely! Leftovers for me for dinner today. I cooked extra potatoes so I'll make a potato salad for the OHToday I'll make a start on laying out the wood I have and see what kind of thing I might be able to make woodstore wise..I fancy a triangular one, only because it looks a bit more designer-y than a bog standard rectangle one. We'll see. I'm not sure how many screws I have left so we might be a bit light on those.I am so itching to get out. I still haven't purchased any extra plates for us because the magic cupboard [as the OH calls the DW] is temporarily storing them. I want to see and feel the plates because I like a nice bit of china [ or what I call a nice bit of china, not in the twenty pounds a plate piece of china though obviously] that's not too thick or that will scratch when you use a knife and fork on it. And we have a shopping delivery arriving on Saturday, mostly things to put away and store for the zombie apocalypse, but some nice tonic for me and some rose cider for the OH, and some pumpkin and poppy seeds for the next loaf.TA, the devil makes work for idle hands!
Ruby, happy sleep day and the cancer card did make me laugh. I pulled it a couple of times with the snotty receptionist too, must be a universal truth...Gers, hope she improves. Sometimes it can be hard to find someone who will tell you things that you need to know or explain them in a way you understand. It was very frustrating for us when my father was in hospital because of the nurses changing shifts all the time, the downside of being in hospital anyway and the general confusion between departments. I feel for you. Monna, I expect to see you two in the next Guy Ritchie film...Scarlet, full MOT, woop woop! Seems like everyone is becoming spick and span again what with all these haircuts and other maintenance work! Hey all reading along, hope you're all alive and singing to small woodland animals about the joys of being alive

Morning all, I'm not hogging the sun, honest ! We've had more rain over night and there's more to come today, but I think the garden has had enough now thank you very much.I slept better last night, (perhaps I wore myself out doing the ironing
) and even managed a lie in his morning. There are still 4 pairs of summer trousers to do, but as we're not going on holiday anytime soon, they can wait till I have another mad half hour. I have nothing planned for today so who knows what may or may not be done today, probably the latter. All the children around here found out their new class teachers yesterday. DD will have year 1/2 mix, she's looking forward to the littlies as she normally has year 5 or 6 and our DGC are happy with theirs too. DGD has her first man, but "that's ok as he has a baby girl so he knows
" apparently ! DGS thinks he has the prettiest lady teacher in the school, oh my he's growing up quickly, last year he was just happy if he had his favourite sandwich for lunch !Am I the only one that's not yearning for a hair cut ? My hair has gone past the point of awkward, so I shall grow it some more so that I can put it up easily, it's already past my shoulders ( if you pull the curls down ) It grows at a rate of knots and my grey roots have now disappeared as my whole head is mostly grey. Everyone seems to think it suits me so I'll leave everything as is for now. I haven't had such long hair since my 20's. I'll be wearing flowers in it next and heading off to San Francisco
Scarlet You seem to have hit a hat trick there ! I tell Mr Fix It to wear a hat or to strap a hot water bottle to his head when he complains about a cold head, mind you he has nothing on top now
Gers I really hope Mum picks up soon.TA welcome to my clumsy club. S0ds law it had to be smelly milk though
Hopefully you can get flushed with success asap. Sorry I'll get my coat, couldn't resist !RedRuby well done on that side swipe to the receptionist, IMO there's always one jobsworth somewhere.Well I suppose I'd better get dressed or it will be lunchtime.Take care all, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
And now it is pouring again. I am in a world of sog.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back10

Oh AOD, I know I shouldn't but that actually made me burst out laughing. I hope you dry out soon and congratulations on your stercificates!

Such dramas already this morning! Milk sodden TA and rain soggy AOD.
I have momentous news... fort the first time in approx 15 years I used an iron and ironing board
Well, I didn't actually do much ironing, or any ironing really. I used it to repair the two tears in DM's favourite silky dressing gown with wonderweb. There were two bits where a side seam had been pulled apart. I found an old hanky and used that as the material. Took me about 30 seconds to do both. Then I couldn't get the ironing board back down, the cleaner did it!I won't be doing that again anytime soon.
