I posted a few weeks back as I'm looking for a new laptop. What are people's views on this one: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/2256065
I want something that has a decent screen and will use it for internet browsing, social media, writing letters and documents and maybe editing photos.

Not bad for the price but it won't be very fast. It hasn't got an ssd and the hdd is the slower variety, not a 7200.
I know Domestos kills 99% of germs, but I'm worried about the 1% that got away.1 -
Shame this one is out of stock - https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lenovo-ideapad-s145-156-ryzen-3-4gb-ram-128gb-ssd-3500099

Not a fan of HP consumer, but here is an example of the kind of thing not too far outside your budget;
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Pavilion-15-cw1511sa-Laptop-15-6-AMD-Ryzen-3-4-GB-RAM-128-GB-HDD-REFURBISHED/353102592070
Should be 'as new' with a full one year warranty.
Full HD IPS Touchscreen.

Same but with a claim of a 256 GB SSD: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Pavilion-15-CW1511SA-15-6-Touch-AMD-Ryzen-3-2-1GHz-256GB-SSD-4GB-RAM-Win-10/402311045293
A device with 8 GB of RAM would be better if you don't intend to open her up yourself.1 -
This one for within your budget:

£30 more for new: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Pavilion-15-cw1500sa-Laptop-15-6-AMD-Ryzen-3-4-GB-RAM-256-GB-SSD-Windows-10/353029600251
Description states 256 GB SSD. Not sure if it is correct.

In addition, it's a TN screen with poor viewing angles.. Though that is expected at that price point.

They lose a fair bit of screen space;
